In the first survey, we asked about the experience of marriage for those who were not married at that time, and about the experience of separation and bereavement for those who were married at that time. In the 12th and 17th surveys, both married and unmarried respondents were asked about their experiences of separation and bereavement.

In the 6th survey, we also asked about their experience of separation and bereavement, but the variable names were different ( Q877 for the married respondents and Q878 for the unmarried respondents).
